In order to plan Abigail's birthday party, I had her write out her favorites. I love this about Abigail, she doesn't ask for a specific kind of party, she wants to be surprised and leaves it all up to me. But obviously some sort of direction will help with pleasant results.
This year she is writing like a pro and this precious stage where 1st graders are starting to understand language and they spell things how they think it should be spelled. Got such a kick out of her paper. To share the joy, the listing below is how Abigail spelled her favorites.

Based on that, the original thought was to make her a kitty or a bunny party. Then Nathan gladly pointed out that a Wild Kratts party would be so much cooler. Thinking about that, all three of my kids love the show and Nathan probably wouldn't enjoy a kitty party as much. Plus, the cousins Olive and Rosie LOVE animals of all kinds, so this would interest them as well. I made simple Creature Power Suits for the kids (very basic) and printed some creature power discs from online and laminated them. We are making cheese pizza with apples. And pink cupcakes with kitty paw prints made out of marshmallows.
